Open Call: Lost and Found

Submit between November 11th - December 2nd

Lost and Found is a project organized by MASS in collaboration with artist Yvette Mayorga, who is in the early research and development phase of a major public art commission for the new terminal at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, slated to open in 2030. Drawing from her ancestral ties to the Bracero Program—Mayorga reflects on the emotional resonance of personal objects carried across borders and generations. Extending this reflection outward, she invites fellow creatives to share their own stories of “lost and found,” while also considering migration within broader ecological contexts, including the interconnected flora and fauna of Texas and Mexico. Because this is a public art project, selected work must be family-friendly and appropriate for public viewing.
