Sunday, June 9 | 11 AM – 2 PM | MASS Gallery
Join us for an hands-on community workshop led by the artists of Big Pour, MASS Gallery’s upcoming exhibition. Together, we’ll explore the art of papermaking by creating collaborative pulp paintings—colorful, tactile works that will become part of the exhibition itself.
Pulp painting is a process where wet colored paper pulp is applied to create handmade paper, allowing for vibrant, layered compositions made through pouring, brushing, and drawing with the pulp itself. All materials will be provided—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
Rooted in the themes of Big Pour, this workshop invites participants to reflect on the relationship between body, memory, and touch. More information on the exhibition can be found here.
This is a casual, drop-in-friendly event open to all Austin community members and friends of MASS Gallery. No experience necessary.
Come get your hands wet, connect with others, and contribute to a shared piece of the show. Water-proof shoes recommended.
