Zoe Berg will present Looking or not looking at the water depends on where her head is, a “chorus” of videos, drawings, and sculptures throughout the gallery and yard. The work weaves together imagery from aqua-musical synchronized swimming routines; balance exercises; clocks collected from her grandmother’s home; family slides; Edvard Eriksen’s Den lille Havfrue; and outer space.

Payasa (Cynthia Muñoz and Andie Flores) invites visitors toYour Presence is Requested, an installation and birthday party. MASS Gallery becomes the site of decades’ worth of elaborate, unattended birthday parties thrown for an increasingly absent honoree. The public is invited to participate in party games, as well as witness the clowns perform their party routine one last time with the same unwavering enthusiasm as every year before.
