Ecstatic

curated by Erin Miller
Opening Reception: February 28, 6-9pm
On view Saturdays; February 28, 2026 - April 4, 2026

Ecstatic brings together works that approach the ecstatic as a condition produced through repeated action, bodily engagement, and heightened attention. The exhibition considers ecstasy not as excess or spectacle, but as a state that emerges through rhythm, accumulation, and duration.

Ritual operates here as a mode of ecstatic making: gestures are repeated, materials are returned to, and processes unfold through cycles of anticipation and response. Excitement arises in these charged loops, where outcomes remain uncertain and perception shifts. In this exhibition, the ecstatic is understood as a visible condition that appears after the act—registered in forms and gestures propelled by impulse, repetition, and release—and shaped by forces beyond conscious control.

Across the exhibition, the works register motion, pressure, and time. The images resist stability, operating less as fixed records and more as traces of heightened perception, where seeing itself becomes part of the experience. Together, the works frame ecstasy as something enacted rather than represented: a state generated through doing, through ritualized engagement with materials, and through attention sustained long enough for the ecstatic to surface.
